i L O V E it!

did you know???

linen comes from the flax plant

and is perhaps the oldest fabric known

its history goes back many thousands of years

linen is renowned for its spectacular durability and long life

the strength of linen thread

is more than twice as high as that of cotton

and more than three times that of wool

highly absorbent and a good conductor of heat

linen fabric feels cool to the touch in summer

and

luxuriously warm in winter

the more linen is washed

the softer and smoother it becomes

linen has a smooth surface

and

a high natural lustre

and

feels lush

HAPPINESS

boy and i were talking about happiness
what is it that makes us happy?

what are some simple, everyday things that make us happy?
so
we came up with a little list
of

everyday
simple
things
to do

write a handwritten letter to a friend or family member

have a go at writing poetry

try a new cafe for breakfast tell yourself a joke you've never heard before
make or build something

go smell a horse

do something touristy in your own city
grow something that you can eat
put crisp clean sheets on your bed
try to find a great song by a great artist you've never heard of before

get out two sheets of paper. On one list your attributes and on the other your flaws. Read them and then burn your list of flaws and keep your list of attributes

google something that interests you but that you have never researched

plan something - anything - to look forward to

find a friend from primary school

take lots of couple shots until you get the perfect one

read a book by a fire
on a cold day

cook a fabulous meal
for the enjoyment of another

lay on the grass,
look up at the clouds
and find
pictures there

make a list of things you enjoy doing
with someone
you would enjoy doing them with
{like we did}

KAYAKING

saturday
20 march 2010

boy and i went kayaking
boy’s looking for a new fitness thingy to do
since he’s got a bung knee :(
so........we tried
kayaking

and kayaking we did!
22 kms of kayaking!

we met tony (mr kayak)
at tunks park in northbridge
he took us through the drill
how to get in, get out, sit, paddle, steer

we paddled
we saw two historic wrecks
at salt pan creek

more paddling
some trouble steering
coordinating arm action and foot action
but so far so good

more paddling
morning tea stop at
flat rock beach
swim

more paddling
under the roseville bridge
and into garigal national park
where it’s peaceful
and there’s a
sandy strip
surrounded by trees
stop for lunch
exhausted
tired
sore

more paddling
all the way
back to tunks park
stroke
tim tams
snort
knee-slap
exhausted

spent
nothing left
exhausted
